After 20 years working with both the French and English languages in a legal context, I pursued my passion for teaching and training, and completed the CELTA (certificate in English Language teaching to adults) certification the British Council in Singapore. CELTA is issued by the University of Cambridge (UK) and is recognized globally language centers.
I have worked in five different countries with different francophone and anglophone cultures, which has taught me the mind can open to new languages at any stage in life. This has also helped me develop my cultural compass, and be a more empathetic teacher.
Culture and language are intertwined, with each defining the other and because each language expresses cultures differently, and places its own expectations on the speaker, I believe my experience living and working in French and English environments with different cultures has given me a tremendous teaching advantage.
